I just found this a couple of days ago, and I really like this! However, I did notice that the researcher and survivalist have the same major and minor skills. I don't know if it's intentional or not, but I thought I'd point it out!
Thank you so much for checking out the game! I went back to check my notes to be sure but yes this was intentional. The archetypes are intended to give a starting point for new players, feel free to mix and match and make your own! Thanks again!
Just got into playing this through the tabletop sim mod. It's very cool but I'd definitely like some more guiding for things like character creation. Also a bit more balancing or explanations on moves. Have enjoyed playing as it's also very quick to explain and play.
Glad to hear you’re enjoying it! I will be taking these points into consideration while we’re working on the next edition. I believe the new edition will explain things much clearer as I’ve brought a friend aboard with more experience to assist.
I will consider updating the how to play video with a character builder section just depends on what time I have.
Hey Trace, I was at the PAX last year (dressed as best fire gym leader Blaine)
I heard you guys were going to be at the CON this year. I would love to connect at the panel and talk about the system. I had a blast running it for my friends
When I ran a campaign I gave my players a 3 a 4 and a 5 value for their pillar stats and then 5 skill points but capping the amount they can give a skill to 2 at the start.
It all depends on how you want to run the game. If they’re early in their journeys give them less stats to start so they have more room to grow and increase the values for the vibe you’re going for.
In the second edition I will be adding much more support for players and directors including starting values.
For the example pillar value's of 3, 4, and 5, are those points to be distributed within the skills or is that a seperate value of the 5 points? In the image provided this is how I understood the stats distrubtion.
The 3, 4, and 5 are separate values to the skill ranks. It seems from the screengrab that you have it correct. Assuming you have another 2 skill ranks somewhere in the Nature category where it cuts off. Hope this helps!
When giving your Pokemon moves it's best to follow the 3D releases for guidance on who can learn what. Your director may approve moves not typically known by your chosen Pokemon but that is at their discretion.
If you're referring to tiers. A Pokemon cannot learn a move that has a tier higher than it. I.e. a tier 1 cannot learn or use a tier 2 move.
Thank you for the reply. I met you at the CON I was the guy dressed up as Blaine and then as Snorlax. Very excited to run for my friends. Follow up question I noticed Mach Punch and Double kick had no special abilities. Was this on purpose?
Not intentionally no, there's bound to be a handful of moves that might have fallen through the cracks in the dev process and are missing effects. If you find more please send me the list ans I'll update them ASAP.

Is there a way to get the moves list in PDF form? I can't use the .xlsx file.
Apologize for the wait but I have included a google drive link in the latest devlog update
Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Trace
Sorry for the late replay, and thank you so much!

I am trying to start up my game. I cannot find how many points to give out at CHAR creation

Awesome! Yes I have a 2 cut off somewhere. :D
Is there a list for what pokemon can learn what moves?
